Many spinal problems seen in adults occur during the birthing process. At birth a newborn’s spine endures a tremendous amount of stress and trauma. During delivery a child’s head may be rotated up to 180 degrees and pulled on with upwards of 75-100 pounds of pressure. Just as in an adult body misalignments of a newborn’s spinal bones can cause decreased nerve function throughout the body. Such conditions can lead to colic, poor appetite, breathing difficulties, ear infections and allergic reactions. . If left untreated any misalignments of the spine that occur during the birth can progress into much more serious conditions later on in life.

The most common treatment parents choose for their children is antibiotic therapy, usually amoxicillin. However, amoxicillin treatment was shown to be ineffective for the treatment of persistent asymptomatic middle-ear effusions (fluid) in infants and children in the December '91 issue of the Journal Of The American Medical Association. In fact, after administration of amoxicillin, occurrence of fluid in the ear was two to six times greater.

When the drainage of the lymphatics are blocked fluid builds up in the inner ear and becomes a breeding ground for viruses and bacteria.
